Exploring and practicing the principle of observation

What is observation? Together as a group, we ask why it is important.

We make glasses with our fingers and look around us. To observe is “to look very closely at something for a long time.”

This is also the first step of the scientific method.

What happens when we look closely? If we watch a tree or a puppy or your friend closely every day, we’ll probably learn something about them. Maybe we’ll start to wonder why the tree has brown leaves or why a friend likes to sit alone at lunch. We learn when you look closely.

We practice this all the time on the farm to make sure the plants and animals are healthy.
